Lab-grown crystals share the chemical and physical properties of natural counterparts, including metaphysical properties, although heat treatment alters color in naturally occurring stones. Different crystal forms exist: raw/rough (unpolished), tumbled (smoothly polished), points (naturally pointed crystals), and cut & polished (shaped). The matrix refers to the host rock from which a crystal grows. Crystal color and formation vary widely depending on geographical location and geological conditions; size doesn't impact metaphysical properties but influences practicality and cost. "Fake" crystals are glass or plastic imitations. Acid washing, often used on softer stones like calcite, enhances their surface appearance but doesn't alter core properties.
