This rare lot is so pretty, with rich, deep chatoyant blue/ rust/red and gold colors with marbled patterns. Each stone contains some Blue which is the most unique thing about Pietersite and each has a brilliant chatoyancy which shimmers. You can choose from 2 sizes:Sizes: Medium Large = Approximately .85" - 1.0" Large = Approximately 1.1" - 1.3" Stones are tumbled smooth and may have very tiny vugs or semi-rough areas as these stones are not overly processed to preserve as much material as possible. Pietersite is a very unusual, beautiful and somewhat difficult to find crystal, as most shops don't carry it and very few people have heard of it, so it tends to be very pricey. The appearance of Pietersite is an intriguing combination of swirling masses of golden brown (sometimes with swirls of gold and blue) that have a chatoyant (shimmering) effect. CHATOYANCY, or CHATOYANCE, is the appearance of a bright, subtly changing shimmer of color which moves along the surface of a gemstone as it is viewed from different angles.
