These wonderful and rare minerals were mined in the K2 Mountain Range in Pakistan. K2, also known as Chhogori/Qogir, Ketu/Kechu, and Mount Godwin-Austen, is the second highest mountain in the world at 8,611 metres, after Mount Everest.
The Azurite grows in the form of "puffballs" within the granite, so when it is cut into slabs and polished, the round dark blue Azurite appears as circular forms. The light grey granite forms a good contrast for the gorgeous Azurite. These lovely little flat slabs are an ideal size for crafting, wire wrapping or using on the body for healing, as a palm stone or altar piece. There is a sweet, high altitude energy from these crystals that is purifying and calming.
