Prasiolite is a very special type of Amethyst from Brazil that is naturally green. Prasiolite is the gemologist's term for Green Amethyst - it comes from the Greek word meaning "Leek Stone" or Green Stone. It is a wonderful gemstone because it is durable and scratch-resistant enough for daily wear with a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.

Prasiolite is a Heart Chakra stone and is known as a "Stone of Transformation", especially with regard to psychic powers and shamanic journeying. It is also known as an amplifier of positive energy.
