1 MINNESOTA PIPESTONE Sacred Tumbled Stone aka Catlinite Native American #W1 1 MINNESOTA PIPESTONE Sacred Tumbled Stone aka Catlinite Native American #W1
I carry this stone as a talismanand prayer for World Peace...here is the backstory...

Geological history going back to the Stone Age has revealed that indigenous peoples have used natural stones for tools, ceremony and decoration. Native Americans fashioned personal articles and peace pipes from natural stone found only in Southern Minnesota. So called "Minnesota Pipestone" is soft enough to carve, yet sturdy enough to withstand the smoking fire of tobacco. The smoke from this pipe was regarded as a prayer to the Great Spirit.

Today Minnesota Pipestone is quarried by permit only to members of federally recognized Native American tribes. It is a difficult and laborious process as only hand tools are permitted in these sacred quarries where the stone is found about 12-17 feet below ground.

You will receive 1 (One) stone from the batch of stones pictured. This listing is by weight, size may vary slightly as the larger ones are thicker and more like smooth cubes.

Medium Large = approx 1.0" - 1.2" flat style (about 7 gm each)
Large = approx 1" - 1.2" length (about 11 - 18 gm each)
Extra Large = approx 1.2" - 1.3" length (about 20 - 29 gm each)
Jumbo = heavy cubes about 1.2" - 1.3" (about 30 - 45 gm each)

These tumbled stones were fashioned from the rough slabs of native Pipestone and are testament and honor to the northern woods and plains Native American artists and tribesmen. Owning a piece of this sacred stone brings remembrance and due honor to the ancestors of America. In this day and age of political dissonance and the history of broken treaties with Native Americans, this tumbled stone can be an offering of hope and peace on your prayer altar.
