When you are ready for Authentic Native American Sage (Salvia Apinia) that has been hand gathered by permission on Tribal Lands, then find your muse here...at Bliss Crystals. We have worked for 2 years to obtain organic, wild Sage that we can certify is ecologically and sustainably harvested by our own shop and then mindfully fashioned into beautiful Sage Bundles. Our sage is carefully hand cut with pruning shears while leaving most of the plant and its companions (hummingbirds, butterflies, insects, roots and earth creatures) to thrive. This is why we have tied our sage with a distinctive and more expensive hemp thread to call it out as ecologically harvested. There is no other sage like this with hemp threads ...so rest assured that you are buying a product that your conscience can live with! And we can sleep at night knowing that we have not harmed the environment here in California by gathering this Sage.

You are buying ONE (1) Sage Bundle that is hand tied with purple and red hemp thread. Each bundle is woven with 3 long Monterey Pine needles to give the Sage an extra boost of woodsy scent and hotter flame to start the embers. We sourced this sage growing wild on the Mesa Grande Indian Tribal Lands near Borrego Springs, California and ritually gathered it with the blessings of the Tribe. Yes this Sage is a bit more costly than commercial, bulk sage but it is more than worth the spiritual assurance of its origins and hand assembly. We designed this sage to be unlike any other with colorful hemp thread and pine needles so you can immediately tell it is not bulk made in a foreign factory. And the scent is divine - heady, sweet and woodsy and ready to cleanse your space, person or ceremonial gathering.

For me, Sage is the preferred method of cleansing my crystals (other than sunlight or moonlight) and getting "right" with any environment. Smudging (smoke) is an ancient form of blessing, offering, cleansing, prayer and healing that has come to our modern times from many traditions. I incorporate one of my protective Guru Mantras with the burning leaves when cleansing a space of stale or negative energies. (The secondary picture shows the sage smoke by my Ganesh altar...) You can also chant a prayer or affirmation when using it. Here's how:

Light the end of the bundle with a hot flame (candle, large match, burning log or gas lighter). Hold the originating flame at the end until the leaves catch fire, then gently wave the bundle and the flames will extinguish into embers and the smoke will rise. As you watch the smoke, visualize it doing its spiritual work as your intention will dictate. Be cautious that embers do not fall on any flammable surface. I use an abalone shell to catch any embers and to hold the smoking sage when I am done with moving it in its ritual space. It will naturally extinguish itself after a few minutes but you can light it again should you desire. These bundles will last quite a long time, even when used daily as the leaves are compacted tightly.

May you experience many blessings while burning these sacred Sage leaves!
